Job description
To plan, develop, monitor and evaluate the assigned WASH project(s). Assess WASH needs, and effectively manage and report on project in line with the objectives, timeframe and budget. Provide technical support, leadership and required guidance; meet quality standards in WASH delivery, encourage beneficiary participation, liaise with other stakeholders and manage and train project staff. This post needs travelling to Kirkuk, Salahddin, Mosul and their related cities and towns where security is available.
Summary of Major Responsibilities:
- Smooth & Successful Implementation of WASH Project
- Budget management and consumption as per standard operating procedures
- Provide Guidance and Support to Staff in Supervision
- Quality compliance with Muslim Aid operational procedures requirements
- Ensure Timely Development of Project Plans
- Ensure Timely Development and Submission of Project Reports
- Review & Monitoring of Project Activities
- Emphasize smooth implementation of organizational policies and Code of Conducts in respective project activities
- Ensure regular visits to field (Highlight issues and ability to resolve if any)
- Ensure Implementation according to Work Plan
- Properly orient the project staff about overall objectives and activities of the project
- Review team work plans
- Review team reports and give feedback
- Provide field level guidance and facilitation to the team member
- Conduct weekly & monthly project review meeting with staff
- Ensure proper filing & documentation of project related activities
- Deal with the issues/matter discussed with team during reviews
- To ensure all records are maintained & stored accordingly
- To comply with all policies, procedures, legal and regulatory requirements.
- Any other duties commensurate with the accountabilities of the post.

- Supervision & Monitoring
- Closely supervise & document the work of other team members, identify gaps &propose actions required.
- Ensure that activities are being carried out as per plan submitted by management.
- Maintain the quality of services and transparency in all respects.
- Review and manage project finances including budgets (Project budgets).
- Analyze project-related developments from time-to-time and provide timely inputs to Programme Manager.
- Management & Administration
- Overall management of the activities of wash project in coordination with Projects team by maintaining the flow of services.
- Observe the transparency and accountability procedures while dealing in all aspects and especially in financial matters.
- Ensure & maintain the work place decorum and enabling cooperative work environment for the team members.
- Ensure and maintain confidentiality at all levels.
- To organize meetings of staff for planning and review of monthly targets.
- To develop procedures and systems to enable check and balance, planning and controlling of activities with respect of job assignments.
- Project Monitoring
- Monitor project activities regularly
- Optimize the use of human, logistical, and financial resources
- Ensure to develop proper financial management of the project finances
- Ensure proper projection of the project activities through print & media
- Ensure timely completion of activities
- Identify core needs required by the project for effective delivery of the agreed deliverables in coordination with the other units.
- Participate in project development activities, with the aim of developing a common understanding about project outcomes, activities, outputs, resources and methodology.
- Develop close working relationships with project participants and stakeholders in order to establish a shared vision and achieve project objectives.
- Project Reporting
- Prepare weekly/monthly progress reports and submit within due dates
- Understand and comply with operational policies manual of the organization.
- Supervise the preparation of project(s) budgets and utilization of approved finances; ensure that expenses are incurred in an efficient manner.
- Responsible for quality delivery of all intermediate and final outputs of project(s)
- Carryout any other task assigned by the management within the scope of works of the Project.
- Ensure Timely Implementation of Project Plans
- The Project Manager will implement the WASH project in accordance to the project plan agreed with the Programmes Manager / donor.
- Ensure Timely Development and Submission of Project Reports
- The Project Manager will be required to develop project reports and will maintain records at project office level.
Required Skills and Experience Education:
- University degree in Civil engineering, or equivalent combination of education and experience” to the requirements section where we list education and years of experience
- Good level in English language, writing & speaking.
- Ensure smooth implementation of organizational policies and Code of Conducts in respective project activities
- Ensure time management in his/her respective project
- Oversee organizational assets and ensure efficient and effective use of resources
- Organize headquarters/donor’s visit in respective project areas and identify model spots for visits
