Job description
Responsibility 1: Ensure the implementation and monitoring of the project activities under direct responsibility (Physical Rehabilitation, MHPSS and Inclusion)
Activities:
- Participate with the PM in implementing the VA project action plan for above mentioned activities
- Participate to internal coordination meetings (team meetings, base meetings, general coordination meetings)
- Supervise the implementation of Physical Rehabilitation, MHPSS and Inclusion activities in the different locations of the project
- Work closely with the PM and Data Base Office (DBO) to monitor the project indicators on a regular basis
- Ensure the monitoring tools are used properly by the teams
- If needed, develop new monitoring tools and reporting templates for activities with the support of the PM and technical advisors
- Work closely with PM to make sure that logistical, administrative and financial procedures linked to project implementation are followed and alert the PM if gaps are observed to take corrective actions
- Identify and share with the PM any technical problems faced, potential risks and proposed solutions.
Responsibility 2: Management of the project team at operational level
Activities:
- Support the POs to implement the activity timetable in order to achieve the project results
- Prepare weekly work plans with the POs and follow up on the progress
- Supervise and support the POs and field teams according to the daily / weekly tasks and staff planning
- Ensure that all activities relating to Physical Rehabilitation, MHPSS and Inclusion under direct responsibility are implemented and carried out following HI’s quality and technical standards
- Work closely with the PM and Technical Unit to provide trainings, on-job recommendation and capacity building sessions to the team when needed
- Organize regular meetings with team under direct management
- Ensure that all staff respect confidentiality and follow HI’s ethical and protection guidelines
Responsibility 3: Reporting
Activities:
- Report on field achievements on a weekly basis to the PM
- Collect field data/reports from POs
- Write and share minutes of meetings and activity reports
Responsibility 4: Human Resources
Activities:
- Supervise and manage the HI operational team under direct responsibility (objectives, appraisals, disciplinary measures etc.)
- Support the recruitment and selection process for new positions in the teams under direct management
- Ensure strict application and respect of the Internal Regulation by related staff
Responsibility 5: Representation and external coordination
Activities:
- At the request of the PM, represent the association with donors, partners, local authorities and stakeholders involved in the implementation of the project
- At the request of the PM, attend and actively participate to the dedicated clusters and coordination meetings (Health sub-cluster, MHPSS working group, protection cluster etc.).
- With the PM, maintain good professional relationships with government, UN Agencies, & NGOs (national & international)
Responsibility 6: Participation in the development of new projects
Activities:
- Give inputs and participate in the development of any possible/future concept note or project proposal
- Contribute to needs assessment for new interventions
Responsibility 7: Other duties
Activities:
- Ensure that the security tracking is respected, monitor the security context and situation on the field at any time and provide feedback to the PM

In charge of: Rehab Project Officer, MHPSS Project Officer, Inclusion Project Officer.
PROFILE SOUGHT
-Qualifications/training:
Essential:
- BA or MA in either: Humanitarian/Emergency Project Management, Public Health, Psychology, Sociology or Protection
Preferred:
- Any additional technical training in any of the sectors listed above has a strong added value
Experiences (types of positions and length):
Essential:
- Minimum 5 years in management positions
- Minimum 3 years’ experience working with INGOs
- At least 2 years’ experience in projects with persons with disabilities, inclusion, psycho-social support or other health services;
Preferred:
– Experience in Iraq and/or in other Middle Eastern countries is a strong asset
– Previous experience with Handicap International is an asset
