Job description
Under the supervision of the General Coordinator, and in close collaboration with bases liaisons and security officers (Kirkuk & Dohuk) the Security Officer will be responsible to collect security information from MdM bases, provide context analysis, ensure the security and safety surveillance of MdM in Erbil and report in case of any incident. S/he will propose review of security documents, tools and make recommendations for MdM team according to MdM procedures and respecting confidentiality related to this work. The Security Officer is in charge to train MdM staff on MdM security rules. S/he strongly networks with relevant actors.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- University degree or a diploma in international cooperation / social sciences or other related field
- Training in Security and Safety sector
- A minimum of 3 years in security management, at least one previous experience with an INGO
- Proven experience of working effectively in complex security environments
- Proven ability to write in a clear and concise manner, including ability to prepare reports and presentations, very good research and analytical skills
- Experience as security and safety trainer
- Strong and effective communication with all type of actors and ability to develop networking
- Good knowledge on Pack Office (word, excel, PPT) and mapping software
- Full command in writing, reading and speaking of English, Kurdish and Arabic
- Be proactive in improving skills by keeping up to date with new / latest development in safety and security operations procedures
