Job description
The PHCC Manager is responsible for ensuring the effective, safe and timely implementation of health activities in Salamiyah Camp PHCC under supervision of the Health Project Manager. In its responsibilities, the main objective is to ensure the daily work of the PHCC with good team management, a good quality medical consultations and nursing care, and contribute to the data collection and reporting. He will also contribute to the set up.
- Ensure a good PHCC organisation, team management, good nursing care level in the camp including nursing care, data collection and reporting.
- Ensure the quality of the medical consultations and nursing duties and overall organisation, including: triage, dressings, injections and distribution of drugs according to protocols, precautions, hygiene standards and doctor’s prescriptions;
- Assist the doctors in the management of the referral cases;
- Ensure that health education is carried out according to the protocols and that key messages are well communicated;
- Organize and monitor the waste management according to the waste management procedures;
- Support the team in its daily work and engage in the different sectors activities;
- Work in close collaboration with the health program manager and report all activities, observations and needs in an reactive way;
- Ensure that PHCC is properly supplied with pharmaceuticals, consumables and the equipment for health services;
- In collaboration with the team and the Health Project Manager prepare medical supplies orders;
- Ensure that medical supplies are stored with respect to standard PUI protocol.
- Manage PHCC team and supervise the Community Health Worker team.
- Supervise monthly planning, staff schedules, annual leave, and evaluation, and contribute to recruitment of PHCC staff;
- Organise and follow-up on the awareness sessions with the Community Health Worker;
- Ensure integration of the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support team in the PHCC;
- Ensure effective collaboration between health team and psychosocial teams.
- Ensure monitoring, reporting and follow up of the medical data in collaboration with the AMEA team (medical prescription, epidemiological data, medical supplies and materials consumption…).
- Supervise the data collection in collaboration with the medical team participate in preparing the weekly medical reports and HIS report
- Report all the previous information to the Health Project Manager and collaborate to the weekly reporting
- Ensure that patients’ monitoring tools are available in necessary quantities.
- Ensure the sharing of information and the training of the staff
- Organise monthly PHCC meeting with all the staff and attend coordination meetings with partners outside and inside the camp when requested;
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Medical/paramedical diploma
- At least 2 years as a medical doctor compulsory (Hospital, Private pharmacy, NGO…).
- Experience in team management
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Strong organisational skills and autonomy
- Ability to work in unstable circumstances
- Understanding of the Ninevah medical system
- Languages : Arabic and English : very good, Kurdish desirable
- Microsoft Office: very good
OPTIONAL
- Training in project cycle management
- Experience/training in community or public health
- Experience with an NGO
- Knowledge of project management
- Good knowledge of humanitarian principles
