The selected candidate will be responsible for the following missions:
Organize and supervise the work and needs of the Mental Health & Care Practises (MHCP) teams with the targeted populations. Assist the MHCP Deputy Program Manager (PM) in the management of the MHCP Team and in the definition of the contents.
Mission 1: Participate in the implementation of the Mental Health & Care Practises activities:
Organize the activities and the team on the field, and report specific difficulties
Training and mobilizing the members of the beneficiary’s communities if necessary
Participating in the conduct of MHCP activities
Coordinate with the psychologist in charge of the referral system with the cases identified by the psychosocial workers.
Supervise MHCP activities with IDPs,
Support and monitor the psychosocial workers in the implementation of the previous activities
Elaborate the activities planning and the monitoring,
Responsible for the necessary logistic means for field activities (transportation, materials etc.)
Identify with the support of MHCP PM/DPM key people in the community that can contribute to the development of the project
Provide training sessions to community agents and/or to targeted populations
Participate in the evaluation of the current psychosocial situation in order to develop future activities in the beneficiary communities
Mission 2: Participation in the internal reporting and in the accountability implemented system:
Participate in the capitalization of the project
Participate in the monitoring & evaluation
Collect the data of the psychosocial activities on a daily basis and prepare daily/weekly internal reports.
Prepare weekly activities reports and transfer them to the Deputy MHCP PM,
Participate in the archiving and the capitalization of the program’s document
Apply the methodologies defined for the program;
Ensure the respect of the define methodologies in terms of assessment and monitoring and support the psychosocial worker in the application
Check the advancement of activities and the general attendance;
Propose possible improvements and adaptations of the approach.
Participate in the evaluation of the project needs (HR, Finance, and Logistic) and make suggestions.
Mission 3: Support in representing the organization with the partners:
Assist to present the project to the various local partners if necessary. ;
Assist to liaise with the authorities other NGOs, committees and other beneficiaries ;
In the absence of the Deputy MHCP assist the Program Manager and/or the Field Manager in inter-NGO technical meetings if necessary.
Mission 4: Supervise the work of the Psycho Social Workers/ Psychologists Team:
Day-to-day management of his/her team (guidance, follow-up, motivation);
Evaluate the performance and developing the skills of his/her team members;
Identify the training needs of team members;
Participate in the training of the team and supervise the team;
Participate in the team’s work schedule, the tasks sharing, and the coordination of work;
Take part in the recruitment of his/her team;
Organize and leading team meetings;
With the support of the MHCP Program Manager, working out and monitoring individual action plans for the team members;
Conduct appraisal with the support of the MHCP Program Manager;
Manage difficulties in the team.
Required Qualification/Degree/Level of Studies: Secondary education and experience in health education or psychology/social diploma. Social science college degree strongly preferred.
Required Professional Experience: Professional experience in the field of psychosocial work and/or technical knowledge in terms of psychosocial work/ group management/care practices.
Required General Skills & Managerial Skills: Team management and activity planning – Ability to communicate with people – Flexibility – Autonomy – Dynamism – Good organizational qualities – Good report writing ability – Good knowledge of the intervention area.
Language skills: Fluent Arabic, Kurdish and English written and spoken
