Job description
- Apply medical knowledge and skills to diagnosis and rapid treatment at trauma stabilization centre
- If necessary prescribe relevant treatment according to MSF guidelines and protocols
- Ensure rapid and correct diagnosis and management or emergency conditions in patients in the TSC
- Ensure a medical follow-up of quality and if necessary (and possible) refer to other health facilities
- Apply hygiene standards in all medical activities
- Collaborate with MSF staff, MOH nurses and team supervisors to maintain standard of care
- Apply and promote aspects of holistic patient care, including patient confidentiality and privacy, pain control, providing informed consent and explanation to patient/caretakers
- Awareness of Mass Casualty Planning and be able to assist in implementation and coordination
Triage and Stabilisation Center (TSC)
- Able to work in a Trauma Stabilisation Center established by MSF, which will be located at entry points close to frontlines during Hawija offensive
- Able to work in 12 hour shifts and overnight shifts in TSC
- Provide first aid and stabilization of patients and refer according to defined referral pathways
- Apply ATLS, international and MSF guidelines provided by MSF during acute patient management
- Ensure that staff in TSC correctly follows START triage system to identify patients who need prioritized management
- Assist or coordinate a Mass Casualty response in case of mass influx of war wounded
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Fluent in Arabic
- Recognized medical doctor diploma/degree, valid license to practice
- Planning capacity, organizational skills, problem solving and multi task management.
- English is an asset (reading, speaking, understanding)
- Ability to work hard, under stress, to take initiative.
- Punctual, honest and reliable
