Job description
Provides necessary support to contribute towards efficient health, safety and environmental management in order to create secure safe and healthy working condition throughout E&P drilling locations while protecting the environment during project execution. Communicates and advises on contents of procedures and safe work practices. Reports to the Crescent Petroleum Drilling Manager.
HSE support responsibilities
- Support operations in implementing actions from HSE audits, inspections, incidents and meetings
- Leads/participates in incident investigations and report writing to ensure timely delivery
- Participates in HSE procedural reviews with management
- Implements a work permit audit plan for drilling operations
- Reports any unsafe behaviors, unsafe acts and conditions to management and promotes the reporting of unsafe acts and conditions to the workforce
- Ensures correctie actions from HSE observation system are tracked and completed and follow up on outstanding actions
- Maintains a high standard of safety leadership at all times and advises on HSE best practices
- Interprets HSE information into other languages (Kurdish and/or Arabic)
- Ensures HSE weekly and monthly reports are prepared in a professional and timely manner
- Carries out HSE inductions and training as required. Manages the HSE training matrix for all drilling employees
- Prepared and distributes HSE posters and information and delivers safety awareness sessions as required
- Assists with preparation and implementation of riks assessments and management plans
- Attends and actively participates in all department’s HSE meetings
- Organizes all participated in emergency drills and supports implementation of lessons learnt
- Plays a critical role in emergency response situations to minimize actual and potential impacts
- Monitors daily site activities for sale workings practices
- Any other duties directed by LPG Asset Protection Supervisor that will assist in smooth running of the operation
Reporting and communication
- Reports to the Crescent Petroleum Drilling Manager on all issues to HSE support functions within drilling operations and works closely with the Drilling Manager, Superintendents and well site supervisors to provide HSE support and oversight at the well site
- Communicates and collaborates with other Crescent Petroleum assets and entities to ensure good cooperation while managing different interfaces such as SIMOPS, emergency management etc.
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
Core competencies
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Excellent communications skills in English
- Knowledge of Kurdish is a must. Knowledge of Arabic is a strong assert
