ERD Database Assistant

Job description

  • Support the MEAL and Database Officer, as well as the ERD manager and Senior Officer and the programme team, in maintaining and improving a beneficiary database.
  • Ensure forms, databases, and record keeping comply with international and IRC standards of working with beneficiaries and ensure the highest level of confidentiality of unique beneficiary information.
  • Modify existing data tracking sheets and databases according to programmatic M&E requirements.
  • Ensure data security and accuracy of data entry.
  • Test databases, correct errors, clean data and make necessary modifications and refinements as and when necessary.
  • Support the MEAL, Database Officer and programme teams in collecting and maintaining datasets.
  • Provide guidance to field teams on structuring datasets for easier use.
  • Support with the implementation of MEAL framework, including PDMs, and the like.

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Education: University degree in BCS, MIT, M. Sc Computer Science.
  • Prior experience in an NGO or INGO, preferably in a similar capacity.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Excellent reporting skills using Excel and Access.
    • Demonstrable capacity for working effectively in a multi-disciplinary and cooperative team environment
    • Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Excel, including creating tables and forms, data analysis, using pivot tables, and charting/visualizing data.
    • Strong attention to detail and excellent data quality assurance and data cleaning skills
    • Excellent presentation skills
