Job description
- Provide medical consultations and appropriate treatment to all beneficiaries according to endorsed treatment protocols from the WHO or MOH
- Assess, provide initial treatment and refer patients needing higher level of care including evaluation
- Refer patient needing further clinical evaluation to the most senior medical officer in the facility if present prior to referral to higher level of care
- Follow-up patients as appropriate including those referred to higher facilities,
- Ensure that beneficiaries needing certain primary health care services such as immunization, antenatal care and other vertical health programs are referred and provided with services
- Provide patients with correct information regarding his/her conditions,
- Maintain patient confidentiality, including privacy during medical procedures
- Obtain appropriate information and maintain sufficient patient records as needed,
- Write legibly and accurately subjective and objective notes regarding the patients’ condition, the assessment and the plan of treatment including the next follow up.
- Participate in data collection by filling up report formats on a daily basis and submitting to clinical officer in charge
Qualifications & Preferred Skills
- Must present an authenticated diploma of clinical medicine
- Must have at least 2 years’ experience working in an out-patient or in-patient clinical setting in the government or NGO sector
- Knowledgeable in basic Microsoft programs such as Excel and Word
- Methodological, organized and diligent
- Strong inter-personal communication skills with strong motivation to provide services for out-patient and in-patient care
- Strong motivation to support in/out patients.
- Willing to do other tasks required for the fulfillment of program objectives as agreed upon with the supervisor
- Willing to provide treatment and assistance to all individuals needing his/her care
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Willing to work in resource limited settings
- Proficiency in Arabic essential, English language proficiency an advantage
