Deputy Mental Health & Care Practises Program Manager

The selected candidate will be responsible for the following missions:

 

Assist the Mental Health & Care Practises (MHCP) Program Manager in his/her work.

Provide support for the definition and follow-up of MHCP emergency projects.

Ensure the supervision and animation of the MHCP emergency Teams,

In cooperation with and in the absence of the MHCP Program Manager ensure that the objectives of the projects are met.

 

Mission 1: Assist the MHCP Program Manager in all MHCP Project activities

Replace the MHCP Program Manager when absent and or need/requested

Organize and follow up MHCP activities in general and ensure they are conducted in a proper and timely manner

Identify, measure and master potential risks in relation to MHCP Programs

Propose and suggest improvements for MHCP projects and activities and implement when possible

Organize and deliver training workshops on different  MHCP themes according to the needs identified by the MHCP Program Manager

 

Mission 2: Prepare and supervise field work and activities

Assist the MHCP Program Manager to determine potential sites of intervention

Calculate the accurate quantity of materials needed for the activities

Manage budget associated with MHCP activities

Prepare work plans and ensure these are followed by the MHCP team

Supervise field work and activities when required/requested

Provide clinical supervision and training to staff as needed/requested

 

Mission 3: Organize, Supervise and follow up data collection and processing 

Ensure harmonization and updating of data entry and analysis as well as activity indicators

Database management: data entry, accuracy checks, statistics calculation and reporting

Assess continuously the projects’ follow-up methods and propose improvements 

Participate in the analysis and drafting of the activity and evaluation reports

 

Mission 4: Ensure internal and external coordination  

Ensure communication between the base manager, MHCP PM, the MHCP Head of Department and the MHCP teams

Participate in internal and external coordination meetings

Propose new directions and/or improvements for the projects

 

Mission 5: Team supervision

Participate in the recruitment process of new team members

Report training needs to the Program Manager and develop and deliver training material if requested

Ensure the quality of the data and reports submitted by MHCP team members

Assist in the implementation and delivery of training sessions in the base 

Explain and ensure application of the international MHPSS guidelines in the provision of all activities

 

Mission 6: Ensure Regular Reporting

Support the teams in project activity reporting and assist the MHCP PM in activity reporting

Check that all documents are up to date and of quality and keep all these documents in a file

 

Pre compile monthly MHCP Activity report

 

Qualification/Degree: 

An university degree in Psychology is essential

Bachelor’s degree required

Master’s degree preferred

 

Professional Experience:

2 to 5 years of professional experience minimum on an identical or relevant position at managerial level preferred with mental health and psychosocial support project management experience and team management experience.

Experience working as a psychologist will be highly regarded.

 

Specialized/Technical Skills:

  1. Knowledge of mental health and psychosocial support interventions – Skills and experience in clinical psychology interventions preferred
  2. Knowledge of cognitive-behavior therapy, and group and individuals therapeutic modalities
  3. Knowledge of project cycle management
  4. Knowledge of the intervention area
  5. Knowledge of MHPSS in emergency situations and of humanitarian action and programs in refugee and displaced population settings
  6. Knowledge of care practices (CP) an advantage, including knowledge on maternal attachment and healthy child development

 

  1. Complementary skills in: MHPSS assessments, monitoring and evaluation, report writing a strong advantage
