Community Relations Representative

Job description

Working in a fast-paced environment, the Community Relations Representative is an essential member of a team responsible for the sustainable development and management of community programs, issues and stakeholder relations that create meaningful impact and foster operational stability in the ares where Hunt Oil operates.

  • Perform administrative duties in support of the Community Relations team
  • Assist in the development, execution and monitoring of company local social programs
  • Attend and participate in community programs, meetings and events
  • Translate documents and correspondence relating to community relations
  • Respect and adhere to Hunt Oil Core Values, Code of Business Conduct and other corporate policies
  • Provide communications support to incident response team
  • Plan and support events such as ceremonies, festivals and stakeholder events
  • Assist in the land compensation program
  • Assist in the development and execution of sustainable community development programs that enhance living standards and relations with local communities
  • Provide day to day support to field operations in the ares of community engagement
  • Works tirelessly to resolve community issues as they arise to avoid impact on operations
  • Execute social plans, establish and maintain procedures and processes to ensure that company activities are carried out in a consistent and efficient manner in accordance with company commitments, government requirement, and lender standards, related to the social matters in the company’s operations
  • Execute permanent updating of social information and filing system as well as communication with other areas involved
  • Prepared project sheets and report (daily, weekly and monthly) for Management

Qualifications & Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor degree in social science or business administration is preferred
  • Minimum three years of relevant community relations experience required, Human Relations experience is a plus
  • Willingness to spend significant time in the Ain Sifni community as required
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Acces, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including fluency in Kurdish, Arabic and English, both written and verbal
  • Strong understanding of local cultural and social norms
  • Must be able to develop and write reports and program proposals in English
  • Must be able to develop spreadsheets and charts to analyze cost, social impact and progress
  • GIS skills are preferred
  • Highly effective interpersonal skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with an ability to build positieve relationships
  • Ability to multi-task effectively
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule as needed
  • Complete discretion, confidentiality is critical
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical ability
  • Industry experience would be an advantage
