Un ponte per… (UPP) is an organization established in 1991. The aim of the association is to prevent new conflicts through informational campaigns, cultural exchanges and international co-operation projects. UPP is working in Iraq since 1991 on a range of projects from protection of human rights, of cultural heritage, of freedom of expression and association, to sanitation, education and humanitarian relief. UPP humanitarian effort and approach is accompanied by a long-term commitment to the local stakeholders (civil society organization and local institution) and builds on the idea that all interventions are based upon strategies locally driven, therefore continuous dialogue with local partners is considered as a crucial factor to point out real needs and to jointly plan sustainable strategies, avoiding a strict and short term approach to emergencies.
